Lazy Sunday

I took off this weekend, and of course someone calls me from work with a question that could have waited.

Anyway, I'm back to my lazy Sunday of doing absolutely nothing. I'm planning to do some writing later and working on some other projects but nothing that will make me have to leave the house.

My favorite MJ video of all time.

You may never find me in a mall, but I am always on somebody's online store finding a deal.

This one is from Forever 21.

$17.80

Say what you want about Kim K. but she knows how to pick em.
This is her new boo, wide reciever Miles Austin, a major upgrade in the looks department from Reggie Bush. I think he's a little older too which could make a big difference... then again, they never seem to grow up in my opinion.

I would love to do something like this in my bedroom. It looks like a ton of work though!

Unit #M: My kitchen clock

Bed, Bath and Beyond $10. I kid you not. $10

Reality Check

Even though I would hate to admit it, I think I have become a reality TV junkie. I used to think shows like Real World and American Idol were stupid... and well, I still do.

But I thought about the shows that I watch on TV on a regular basis--and they are ALL reality shows.

  • The Real Housewives on Bravo (all of them)

  • Downtown Girls on MTV

  • 9 by Design on Bravo

  • What Not to Wear on TLC

  • The City on MTV

  • Khloe and Kim take Miami VH1

  • Keeping up with the Kardashians VH1

  • Celebrity Apprentice on NBC (my fav!!)

  • Tori and Dean, Home Sweet Home on Oxygen

Is this sad? I didn't realize it until it got out of control. Sometimes I think I just want a glimpse inside of someone else's reality other than my own.

Tonight's dinner

Yup. I had Crunch Berries for dinner.

Don't judge.
Hi blogworld!

How was your day? Mine.... well, long, boring, hot and exhausting.

I am in need of a spontaneous vacation so I took a few days off this week and I think I'm going to go for it. No seriously, I think I'm going to look for one of those last minute E-fares and take off!

Why the hell not!?!!?

Closet Freak: 1 of my closets

I was talking about my dream home with a friend and we were talking about our top three must haves. Hers were a big kitchen, a big backyard and dual showerheads. Dual showerheads...what?!! Nevermind, I don't want to know.

Well throughout my blog, you will notice my slight obsession with closets. That obesession increased after my big move to Unit #M. While the condo is a great investment, the closet space SUCKS!!!!!! This is my master closet:

You can't see the shelves that have been installed and the boxes and boxes of shoes stacked on the floor. The over-the-door hanger was an Ikea find to store the shoes without boxes. The guest closet is about the same size and it's also at capacity.
So to get back to my original thought. Big closet--an absolute must. There should be shelves and drawer space, ample lighting and a place for me to sit. Yes...I want that kind of closet.
My other two must haves: an open kitchen-living space (for entertaining) and a master shower large enough for a 6'5" man and a 5'9" woman to fit into at the same time;) That's all.

I will be the first to say that I love FaceBook. But it has slowly become the new MySpace.

I am getting more and more requests from music producers, invites to club parties, not to mention all the friend requests from people I have never met a day in my life.

I understand that I am a public figure and have a job that's in the spotlight BUT that's why I created a fan page. But why oh why are there still so many more people trying to get a peek at my personal page. Little do they know, I don't have any crazy pictures of me actin a fool or any sexy swimsuit pictures..the pictures that I post are carefully thought out and only give you a glimpse inside my personal life.

In a matter of 3 days I had more than 35 new friend requests--and at least 30 of them are from men. ***creepy***

So this morning, me and my crazy gay guy friend/self-proclaimed stylist did an overhaul of my FB page. It's hilarious. He changed my profile picture and my name. Then he went through and named ALL of my friends and if I couldn't tell him who they were, he deleted them. It was so fun and now maybe I won't be so creeped out by FB.

I am on a quest to find these picture frames. If anyone knows where I can find them, send me an email elise0104@gmail.com

Oh, my heart aches for these. Yep, they're red bottoms. One day, one day.

Budget Find: Draw String Dress

Look what I found: I never go to New York & Company but today I decided to swing by and I picked up a bunch of cute summer tees, tanks and THIS cute dress!Click here for details

You can make it kind of long or short. It comes in a bunch of colors and prints. Of course, I chose basic black for fear of running into someone w/the same print. Plus, I have tons of ideas for this dress. Big belts; statement necklaces, my funky gold sandals, and some patterned tights in the winter. I think I have come up with at least 10 ways to wear it.

Oh, and the best part... it's only $9.99 I had to compose myself. I initially had 4 in my hands. I did however, buy one as a gift for a dear friend.
It's so sassy!

All the Single Ladies

While there are things about me that envy the "married life"... the idea of a husband and children, home cooked meals and family trips; there are moments when I absolutely ADORE my single life. Well, semi-single (until I have a ring on it..you know the rest).

I just had one of those moments. I loaded the dishwasher, grabbed dinner out of the fridge--tonight it's yogurt w/a little granola on top, and I lit a candle in the kitchen, trimmed the fresh flowers I bought a few days ago, all while being super careful not to mess up my freshly polished nails.

Essie: Sugar Daddy

As I walked down the hallway to my bedroom, I picked up my bottle of "Light Blue" that's been sitting on the wet bar for a few days, stepped over my cute new 9West sparkly peep toe pumps, and flopped down on my pillow-laden queen sized bed.

These are things that I will soon not be able to enjoy on a regular basis. The frills of being a girl are not erased post marriage...I just think that they are often times put on the back burner.

So for those of you--who like me--are semi-single, enjoy your crisp white sheets, impractical furniture and floor candles before you have to give them up for awhile.

Embrace singledom.

It's fabulous.

Can I just say that Liza singing Single Ladies was one of the best parts of Sex in the City2

Here's a bit of someone's bootlegged version I found on You Tube. Funny.

Boy do I hope so...........

Unit #M: The little plant that could

I am so not a plant person...no matter how hard I try to be. I try all the tips and tricks but I could kill a cactus:(

Let's see how long this one lasts..

This picture makes me feel so much better about making a mad dash to the store for sweets when I'm stressed.

Today I realized that I'm in desperate need of new lip gloss. I've squeezed away at what's currently in my makeup bag. All my nude colors..are almost gone and I'm ready for a change.

While I love MAC, I don't love their lip gloss--too sticky! Men HATE sticky lips. So now I'm going to compromise my brand loyalty and try something a little different. I heard Lancome may be the way to go.

We'll see. Muah!

Fendi

First Lady Love

Just because she is who she is. Fabulous.

Closet Freak

Here's another cute yet modest closet I found on Apartment Therapy. I love the concept of the shelving and dresser drawers but I need to see more.

Oh, and don't think I didn't spot the chandalier. Cute!!!

This is Kim Porter's new California home. For those of you who even care to know who Kim Porter is... she is Diddy's baby mama.

I hear she was a model, business woman, blah, blah, blah... I don't know anything about that. All I know is that she is Diddy's baby mama and she's doing something right for him to buy her this $6 million home.

Must be nice. I'm just trying to get the bills paid.

sorry, sorry, sorry...

Lately it seems as if I've been going through these blog phases. It's been weeks since my last post. And after making some new friends in the blog world, I fell so guilty about not keeping up my site.

So, here's what's been going on over the past few weeks....

#1 Sex in the City II - I didn't get dolled up to go see the movie. I didn't go with a bunch of girlfriends. Instead, I went to the theatre in my fabulous cropped jeans, black wife beater, statement necklace and flats. I grabbed my big Coach bag (filled it with goodies) and went to the matinee. Now, I tried not to pay any attention to the reviews--but I heard mumblings about "how bad it was." It was SOOOO not bad! The movie wasn't great but it fulfilled my expectations of fashion, sex, love, family and glamour.

#2 Work - Let's just say the dynamics of work are changing. For the past six years I have dedicated a lot.... A LOT of time to my career. That career has allowed me to meet so many successful people and now I am transitioning into the next phase of my life. I am setting myself up to be my own boss. So the past few weeks have been spent trying to nail down one big contract and a much smaller one that will boost my income by a little more than A LOT!

#3 Family - My family dynamic is taxing these days. I think that your family as a whole has its ups and downs. This is a down moment. There is just a lot of expectations from certain family members right now and I am not willing to commit.

#4 Love - Speaking of commit... whew, this love train is bumpy to say the least. Lately, me and The Mister have been playing the blame game about the smallest things ever. It's getting old and I'm over it and so is he... BUT we are not over us. So, we are weighing our options so we can give this love train its annual tune-up and make things work. But can I tell you, OMG, I am about to pull all of my hair out!

#5 Unit M - The condo is simply fabulous!!!!!!!!! It is now about 95% complete. You may remember my complaining about the hoge poge of things that ended up in my bedroom. Well this week I made it werk! Pics to come. It's super pretty...and super romantic. The Mister hasn't seen or heard about it yet. If he acts right, maybe he can stay the night;)

That's all for this post. It's already way to long. So put me back on your regular blogroll. I will make it up to you. I promise.
