Unit M: And then there was light

I went back to Walmart (my favorite place)--yeah right! But I did find these great lamps. $25 each for the lamp..
$20 for the shade. Yep...cool new bedroom lamps for under 100 bucks!
Pretty!
I will share my total bedroom makeover soon. Stay tuned...

sorry, sorry, sorry...

Lately it seems as if I've been going through these blog phases. It's been weeks since my last post. And after making some new friends in the blog world, I fell so guilty about not keeping up my site.

So, here's what's been going on over the past few weeks....

#1 Sex in the City II - I didn't get dolled up to go see the movie. I didn't go with a bunch of girlfriends. Instead, I went to the theatre in my fabulous cropped jeans, black wife beater, statement necklace and flats. I grabbed my big Coach bag (filled it with goodies) and went to the matinee. Now, I tried not to pay any attention to the reviews--but I heard mumblings about "how bad it was." It was SOOOO not bad! The movie wasn't great but it fulfilled my expectations of fashion, sex, love, family and glamour.

#2 Work - Let's just say the dynamics of work are changing. For the past six years I have dedicated a lot.... A LOT of time to my career. That career has allowed me to meet so many successful people and now I am transitioning into the next phase of my life. I am setting myself up to be my own boss. So the past few weeks have been spent trying to nail down one big contract and a much smaller one that will boost my income by a little more than A LOT!

#3 Family - My family dynamic is taxing these days. I think that your family as a whole has its ups and downs. This is a down moment. There is just a lot of expectations from certain family members right now and I am not willing to commit.

#4 Love - Speaking of commit... whew, this love train is bumpy to say the least. Lately, me and The Mister have been playing the blame game about the smallest things ever. It's getting old and I'm over it and so is he... BUT we are not over us. So, we are weighing our options so we can give this love train its annual tune-up and make things work. But can I tell you, OMG, I am about to pull all of my hair out!

#5 Unit M - The condo is simply fabulous!!!!!!!!! It is now about 95% complete. You may remember my complaining about the hoge poge of things that ended up in my bedroom. Well this week I made it werk! Pics to come. It's super pretty...and super romantic. The Mister hasn't seen or heard about it yet. If he acts right, maybe he can stay the night;)

That's all for this post. It's already way to long. So put me back on your regular blogroll. I will make it up to you. I promise.

Unit #M: Perfectly Imperfect

Look at these! Aren't they interesting... I bought them at some swanky furniture place and I love them for my bar area.

While I'm at it. Here's what Unit #M is looking like these days.
I'm still working on a couple of things but for the most part, this is it!

Unit #M: That settles it!

For weeks, I've been going back and forth over whether I should put a mirror above my bed. In the meantime it's just been leaning against a wall...and since it's not THAT large, it doesn't work as a floor mirror.

Well, as I was going through my blog roll, I found this picture...

It helped me make up my mind. Finding the nails in 5, 4, 3...

Unit #M: Don't be late

One of my blog readers suggested this wall clock for Unit #M.
I actually like it. It's cute and it will make me smile on my way out the door. I'm going back to Ikea next week to see if I can find something a bit more modern, if not, this is definitely a contender.

Thanks!

Hi Blog Family

Sorry I've been M.I.A. the past few days.
I've been busy being woo'd ;)
More fabulous blog posts to come...I promise!

Oh yeah, Unit #M is looking pretty good!!!! There's new rugs new pillows and some new accessories. AND I'm staying far witin my budget. I will have to snap a few photos for you. I'm so in love with the color scheme!

The job is great. I'm still in te honeymoon phase. My boss is super nice and super involved with the daily production of the newscast. He gives daily feedback after reading my stories. There was even some positive feedback from the VP of the company after watching one of my stories last week. So things are going pretty well.

The chief photographer spent some time with me showing me some tricks and shooting tips when I have to use the high-def camera.
The weather is great here... my mommy and nephew are coming to visit in a few weeks... my friends will be here in 2 months for my birthday... and one of my former co-workers will be here next month.
So all is well in the world of Elise.
Now back to the blogging...... ♥Elise

Unit #M: Now that the furniture is here...

As you can see the furniture for Unit #M is in place...and now it's time for the fun part: Accessorizing!!!

Let me say that I love, love, love my new couch, ottoman and chair. I know it's a little matchy-matchy (which I typically hate). BUT, I am going to overload on rugs, pillows, throws and paintings that will hardly match...but they will go;)
The rug that you see in this pic is VERY temporary. I found a huge area rug that will pull everything together.

I picked up the pillow in the chair from Target for only $30. It has all of the colors I will be working with. I'm so excited!!!

Let the accessorizing begin! ♥Elise

Unit #M: I want one!!!

I desperately, desperately want a Franco Albini ottoman. I saw it in the condo I was originally thinking about buying... It looked great, and every since then, I've wanted one...or something super similar.

They are $500 though. It pains me to ever even consider paying so much for an ottoman I would NEVER put my feet on. Help! All you E-bay, Overstock, Thrift store shoppers...please email me if you find one.

Unit #M: For the Bedroom

I'm going to hang curtains in my bedroom...but they will be more for design than function. I was online at Anthropologie yesterday and found this:
I stopped by the store to see if I could just pick them up. But they told me they hooks are an online exclusive. So before I double click and make the purchase, what do you think?

Unit #M: Look what I found!

Today I made my rounds to some of my favorite spots as I continute trying to decorate Unit #M without breaking the bank.

After leaving Pier 1, I made a pit stop to Ross...and look what I found in the home section!!!!!!
Isn't it cute!?!? It's in the kitchen (right now). The best part is that I got this fab accent rug for $13.99 And it feels good on my feet. Ha!
Stay tuned.... I FINALLY found furniture! Who-hooo! It will be here this weekend...and it's typical "Elise." I also found an area rug. That one WASN'T on sale. Ouch. But it's perfect for the space. Can't wait until I can pull everything together that way this place will finally feel like my home. ♥Elise

Unit #M

As many of you may recall, I recently got a new condo in NC. It's only been a couple of weeks but you wouldn't believe some of the changes I have made. But there is still sooooo much I want to do!

So as I continue to re-design and re-decorate, I may need your help.

Be on the lookout for Unit #M.

♥Elise
